Moody Maternity Photos at the Icelandic Plane Crash
I first met Abby last year in NYC and quickly became a huge fan of her. She is a fellow photographer, a mother of (soon to be) 4, and has a constant drive to keep pursuing her passions and business goals. When we met up in Iceland this summer, I knew I wanted to do a shoot at this plane crash, and she knew she wanted some non-traditional maternity photos that had more of a moody vibe. We hiked 5 miles in the middle of the night, and made some once in a lifetime photos in the freezing cold, black of the night.
In her words, "I know these maternity pics aren't the normal light, airy, super smiley maternity pics - but that was intentional on my part. Motherhood is full of adventure, lots of odd hours, a variety of emotions, and it takes you places you never thought you would go. So a maternity shoot in Iceland, at a plane wreck at 2AM seemed like the best representation of these things."
